2014 In Pursuit of the King

Services

General Info

That  was  the  best  thing  I’ve  ever  got  to  do  in  my  life......

Recently during the week proceeding resurrection weekend, after our local church performed a play,  one of MOA’s former participants made this comment to me:  “The Colorado trip was the best thing I’ve ever gotten to do in my life.”   You see this young man was able to go on the first “pursuit of the King” trip.  The impact of this trip we will never really know, each person it effects differently.  What we do know is that it is one of the most powerful tools I know of.  There is something about the mountains that makes one spirit come alive.  No matter who you are or where you’ve come from it will impact you.  I have several ideas why this is but I wont go into all that.  What I do know is that when these young people are removed from the hellholes they call home and are brought into an environment away from their yuck, their spirits are able to awaken to the glorious beauty and majesty that surrounds them.  It is a place that man has not destroyed. A place where they can let down and allow the presence and peace of God to fill their hearts and minds with his never ending love.

In our fast paced, fast food, microwave, got to have it yesterday, social media, smart phone (in every pocket), wi-fi (on every corner), all about me (myself and I) society: how a person chooses to disconnect from the world and all the distractions around it is absolutely VITAL.

I wish with all my heart that I could guide every person into the splendor and majesty of Gods creation for at least a week.  We read in the bible that Jesus went to the  mountains to pray,  he had to “ get away” from the distractions and spend time with the father.  If Jesus did how much more do we need to leave the distractions behind.

If you would like to be a part of these trips and help to send these youth to CO, please

The only youth to make it to the top in 2012!
